Good Shepherd Rehabilitation Network Announces Three New Board Members9/26/2013
The Northeastern Pennsylvania Synod of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of America recently elected the following to three-year terms on the Good Shepherd Rehabilitation Network Board of Trustees: Donald W. Snyder, Esq., of Orefield, Jaan Naktin, M.D., F.A.C.P., of Center Valley and Rosalin Petrucci of New Jersey. Good Shepherd is affiliated with the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America, and the Synod elects two-thirds of the trustees to the Good Shepherd Rehabilitation Network Board.
An active leader in the Lehigh Valley for nearly three decades, Snyder has served as president of Lehigh Carbon Community College (LCCC) since 2000. He recently announced his retirement from LCCC, effective later this year. Prior to assuming the presidency at LCCC, Snyder represented the 134th Legislative District of Lehigh County for ten terms in the Pennsylvania House of Representatives.
Snyder holds degrees from LCCC, the Pennsylvania State University, Lehigh University and Dickinson School of Law and received his juris doctor degree from Villanova University.
Snyder has received numerous recognitions for his contributions to the community and education field, including the 2003 Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year Award, Distinguished Service Award from the Lehigh Valley Chamber of Commerce and the 2010 Entrepreneurial President Award from the National Association for Community College Entrepreneurship.
Dr. Naktin is a senior physician with Lehigh Valley Infectious Diseases Specialists of the Lehigh Valley Physician Group as well as member of the medical staff of the Good Shepherd Rehabilitation and Specialty hospitals. He is also co-medical director of the Good Shepherd Specialty Hospital’s wound care program and has served as president of the Good Shepherd Rehabilitation Hospital medical staff and as chairman of its infection control and utilization management committees.
Dr. Naktin received his undergraduate degree from Johns Hopkins University and his medical degree from Jefferson Medical College of Thomas Jefferson University in Philadelphia. He completed his medical residency and fellowship in infectious diseases at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital. Dr. Naktin is board certified in internal medicine and infectious diseases, as well as a fellow of the American College of Physicians and the Infectious Diseases Society of America.
Petrucci is a real estate entrepreneur with more than 30 years of experience in the industry, including currently serving as director of the educational initiative of J.G. Petrucci Co. Inc. In this role, she has guided the development of educational facilities from site selection through completion. Her experience includes serving as manager and marketing director for various real estate and development offices, as a zoning board chairperson and an instructor on fair housing and diversity training policies.
Active in her field as well as the community, she has received several awards, including being named as one of top 23 women in real estate by the Women’s Fund of New Jersey. She also manages Crossing Borders, an event that benefits groups that enhance employability for single parents and displaced homemakers. She is currently a member of national CREW (Commercial Real Estate Women) Network, founding member of CREW Lehigh Valley and a board member of the Greater Lehigh Valley Easton Area Chamber of Commerce. Petrucci was honored with the Athena International Award in 2011.
