J. Michael Parnell, MSN, RN, BSc, Named Administrative Director of Rehabilitation at The Children's Hospital of Philadelphia
Good Shepherd Rehabilitation Network Manages All Rehabilitation Care at CHOP
Allentown, PA – Good Shepherd Rehabilitation Network, Allentown, Pennsylvania, recently named J. Michael Parnell, MSN, RN, BSc, as administrative director of Rehabilitation at The Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP). Good Shepherd Rehabilitation Network manages all medical rehabilitation services at CHOP.
As administrative director of Rehabilitation, Parnell will work closely with CHOP’s physician specialists and therapists to coordinate rehabilitation care throughout the CHOP network. Parnell will have administrative oversight of CHOP’s physical and occupational therapy services, as well as inpatient services provided at the Children’s Seashore House rehabilitation unit and the CHOP Feeding Program.
Parnell most recently served as administrator-clinical practices at the University of Pennsylvania Health System (UPHS), Philadelphia. Prior to his time at UPHS, Parnell was director of Inpatient Services and Administrative Council Lead at Blair E. Batson Hospital for Children at The University of Mississippi Medical Center. Parnell also served as interim facility administrator for Alternatives for Life Treatment and Recovery in Jackson, Mississippi.
Parnell holds a bachelor’s degree in biology, with a focus on molecular biology, from Belhaven University, Mississippi. He also holds a bachelor’s degree in nursing and a Master of Science degree in nursing and health-care administration, both from the University of Mississippi School of Nursing.
