Frank Sparandero, M.D., M.P.H., Joins Good Shepherd as Director of Occupational Medicine

Frank Sparandero, M.D., M.P.H.Allentown—Good Shepherd Rehabilitation Network has named Frank Sparandero, M.D., M.P.H., its Director of Occupational Medicine. Dr. Sparandero previously served as Vice President of Medical Affairs and then President and CEO of Sacred Heart Hospital in Allentown.

In his new role, Dr. Sparandero will treat patients who have suffered injuries at work or as a result of their occupation.

Dr. Sparandero is certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine and the American Board of Preventive Medicine (Occupational Medicine). He has more than 30 years of experience as a physician, including patient care (in general internal medicine and occupational health setting), teaching, research and health-care administration. He has authored and reviewed articles for medical trade journals and has written clinical curricula.

“Good Shepherd has earned an excellent reputation over the past 100 years for treating
patients with neurologic and musculoskeletal disorders and for helping them to improve their level of function and quality of life,” says Dr. Sparandero.

Dr. Sparandero earned his medical degree from State University of New York Health Science Center, Brooklyn, New York. He completed training in internal medicine at Staten Island University Hospital and in aerospace medicine at the U.S. Air Force School of Aerospace Medicine, at Brooks Air Force Base, San Antonio, Texas. Dr. Sparandero earned a Master of Public Health degree in occupational medicine from the Medical College of Wisconsin. He also received an honorary Doctor of Science degree from DeSales University.
