S. Todd Bernstein, M.D., Joins Physician Group At Good Shepherd Rehabilitation Network4/21/2009
ALLENTOWN, PA - S. Todd Bernstein, M.D., a specialist in physical medicine and rehabilitation with particular expertise and experience in neurorehabilitation, has joined the Physician Group of the Good Shepherd Rehabilitation Network. He provides inpatient physician coverage at Good Shepherd Rehabilitation Hospital - Allentown, primarily serving individuals with brain injuries and other neurological issues. He also provides inpatient consultations at the major referring hospitals in the Lehigh Valley, as well as at the Penn Institute for Rehabilitation Medicine in Philadelphia, which is an entity of Good Shepherd Penn Partners, Good Shepherd's joint venture with the University of Pennsylvania Health System.
Dr. Bernstein has more than 20 years experience in physical medicine and rehabilitation. He comes to Good Shepherd from Magee Rehabilitation Hospital, Philadelphia, where he served as medical director of the Brain Injury Program since 2007. During that time, he also served on the medical staff of Hahnemann University Hospital, Philadelphia, and was an instructor of physical medicine and rehabilitation for residents from Jefferson University, Philadelphia.
Previously, he was a physiatrist for the Brain Injury and Spinal Cord Injury programs at the National Rehabilitation Hospital, Washington Hospital Center and Georgetown University Hospital, all in Washington, D.C.
Dr. Bernstein began his career as a chief resident of physical medicine and rehabilitation at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania, Philadelphia. Dr. Bernstein is board certified in physical medicine and rehabilitation. He is a graduate of Temple University School of Medicine, Philadelphia, and a member of the American Academy of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation.
