Externships

Good Shepherd Rehabilitation offers unpaid, one-week Winter externships to current college students who are interested in gaining insight into non-clinical career paths in a health care setting.

NOTE: If you’re interested in nursing externship opportunities, see our Nurse Extern Program.

The externship program is designed for sophomores, juniors and seniors enrolled in an undergraduate program. While any major may apply, this program is particularly geared toward those who are studying health care administration, business and other related majors.

Externships allow students to briefly observe/shadow in several non-clinical areas, such as Human Resources, Marketing & Communications, Development/Philanthropy, Care Management and Business Development.

NOTE: The application window for the non-clinical January 2025 externship is closed. Please check back in Fall 2025 to apply for the Winter 2026 externship or email recruiting@gsrh.org.

Internship Opportunities

Students who complete the week-long externship at Good Shepherd are encouraged to apply for a paid, three-month summer internship in the department of most interest to them.

The summer 2025 internship application window opens in January 2025.
