Message from Good Shepherd’s Chief Nursing Officer

The following is a message from Senior Vice President of Patient Care Services and Chief Nursing Officer Jeanne Dzurenko, MPH, BSN, NEA-BC:

Nurses and nursing assistants play a crucial role in the health and well-being of our communities. This became even more apparent in recent years as the pandemic challenged healthcare systems and communities across the country; and, it continues to do so.

The importance of post-acute care in the care continuum was also highlighted as emergency rooms and acute tertiary hospitals became challenged with managing volume.

Good Shepherd Rehabilitation proudly provides acute inpatient rehabilitation, long-term acute care and long-term care to eastern Pennsylvania communities. Our Nursing team is paramount to Good Shepherd’s success as a free-standing post-acute network. I am truly honored to lead the Nursing Department.

  • Our recent accomplishments, which continue to be top priorities, include:
  • Developing and implementing a Just Culture
  • Focusing on retaining our staff
  • Planning for and successfully opening a new acute rehabilitation hospital
  • Supporting nursing workflow
  • Beginning the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) Pathways to Excellence journey

Employee centricity, evidence-based clinical care and excellent patient experience are our pillars. If you are part of the Good Shepherd Nursing team, I have profound gratitude for your perseverance and commitment to our patients, residents and colleagues.

If you are looking for an exciting opportunity in three different post-acute specialties, I invite you to visit us and consider a career in this exciting aspect of patient/resident care.

I look forward to welcoming you to Good Shepherd!
