Rehabilitation Psychology

Processing & Adapting

Dealing with a chronic or acute illness or injury can be a challenging adjustment. As part of the integrated, seamless care available to all Good Shepherd patients, our psychology team can help adults, children and their families understand and cope with their condition.

The Good Shepherd Psychology Group uses clinical evaluations and formalized testing to assess brain function in the areas of cognitive abilities, behavior and emotion.

We are highly skilled in providing treatment that helps you or your loved one maximize strengths and adapt to existing challenges.

Good Shepherd Psychology Group

The Good Shepherd Psychology Group services are part of the integrated care available to all Good Shepherd patients. We treat clients in both inpatient and outpatient settings for a wide range of diagnoses, children to older adults. We care for the whole patient and family.

Your emotions, perceptions, behavior and thinking functions often are affected by illness or trauma. We specialize in how the brain functions – including cognitive functions, such as attention and memory, as well as thoughts and feelings – related to neurological and physical function. We help you and your family face diagnoses, conditions and disabilities, and assist those preparing for surgery.

Our goal is to help you adapt effectively to living with a disability or chronic medical condition so that you are able to participate in fulfilling activities.
