Located in Allentown, PA, the Hyland Center for Health & Technology is one of the region’s premier outpatient rehabilitation facilities, offering a fusion of comprehensive rehabilitation services and today’s newest technologies.

Patients and families can access multiple services, including physicians, neurorehabilitation, pediatric rehabilitation, adult rehabilitation, assistive technology and other outpatient services, all under one roof.

The Hyland Center for Health & Technology offers a number of personalized services tailored to meet your specific needs.

Assistive Technology

At the Hyland Center for Health & Technology, Assistive Technology is used to compensate for physical, cognitive, language and visual impairments, enabling patients to reconnect to their daily life. Specially trained occupational and speech therapists provide hands-on education and training to patients and their families or caregivers to identify the most enabling devices.

Aquatic Therapy

Warm-water aquatic physical therapy helps with chronic pain, arthritis conditions, bariatric patients, spine and lower extremity injuries and more.

Neurorehabilitation

Our Neurorehabilitation team offers a broad array of therapy, programs and technology to help patients regain as much function as possible. Led by our team of physical medicine and rehabilitation physicians and therapists, Good Shepherd blends the appropriate therapy and leading-edge technology to meet the needs of every patient.

Occupational Therapy

Good Shepherd’s orthopedic and neurologic occupational therapists work together with your other health-care providers to help you regain function after injury, illness or surgery, including life after being discharged from the hospital or living with a chronic condition. 

Pediatric Therapy

Outpatient rehabilitation services for children: physical therapy, occupational therapy and speech therapy, including clinicians with specialized training in feeding and swallowing disorders.

Innovative technologies, such as Trexo Plus, that help children living with developmental and/or physical disabilities or injuries live their lives to the fullest.

Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation Physicians (Physiatry)

Treatment for patients recovering from neurologic, musculoskeletal, cardiovascular, pulmonary, orthopedic or other conditions.

Physical Therapy

Speech Therapy

Good Shepherd’s team of speech-language pathologists treats patients who experience difficulties with speech, communication, cognition, voice, or swallowing as a result of illness, injury or condition. 

Vision Therapy

Treats patients whose vision-related problems stem from neurological disorders or injuries, such as traumatic brain injury, concussion, stroke or other vision impairments.

Trexo Plus

Good Shepherd Pediatrics is proud to be one of a handful of “Centers of Excellence” in the U.S. to pioneer Trexo Plus, a robotic gait training technology that encourages independence and physical activity.

The wearable device allows kids with lower-extremity weakness and/or spasticity to get on their feet and walk — maybe even for the first time.

The Spine & Joint Center

Located on the upper level of the Hyland Center for Health & Technology in South Allentown, our physicians at The Spine & Joint Center treat a variety of common neck, back, joint and other musculoskeletal pain disorders, including work-related, recreational and sports injuries.

We use an interdisciplinary approach to help patients reduce their pain and improve their daily function. Our highly trained physicians and therapists carefully coordinate a personalized rehabilitation program that meets each patient’s unique needs.

Optimal Fitness at Good Shepherd

The Hyland Center for Health & Technology is also home to Optimal Fitness,  an adaptive fitness center that supports the fitness and training goals of community members living with disabilities.
